I miss my running but I have had fun this week doing some things I haven't done in a while.

Mon- biked 12 miles
Tues- swam 500 yards
Wed- bikes 10 miles
Thurs- biked 10 miles
Fri- biked 10 miles
Sat- swam 600 yards
Sun- nada - enjoyed family on Father's day

Totals:
Swim - 1100 yards
Bike - 42 miles

After taking nearly 2 weeks off the pain got better but didn't go away. I went out for a 4 mile run last Tuesday and really shouldn't have. I thought maybe it would be ok but it wasn't.

I bought two different things this weekend to try for the PF. The strasburg sock is is $50 at the local running store so I went to a drug store and they had a brace/boot that you put on that holds your foot in a neutral position and then I found another one that that is more of a strap that you can tighten up and pull your toes in more of a "stretch" position. I haven't decided which on is best yet. I slept with the brace on last night and the pain was less when I woke up this morning but has gotten worse as the day has progressed.

I am beginning to wonder if I don't have something else wrong- the pain has actually gotten a little worst over the past few days and now there is pain on the outside of my foot.

Week of 25 May 2009:

Started off being a good week despite tired legs from my hilly 10 mile run on Saturday and a long weekend at the lake.

Mon- No run
Tues- 6.2 miles
Wed- 7 miles
Thurs- 6.2 miles
Fri- No run
Sat- No run
Sun- No run

Total- 19.4 miles

I decided over the weekend to take some time off to see if the PF will heal. I am tired of waking up every morning and getting up from my desk limping around. The problem I had with doing this before was I was afraid I would lose all of the progress I had made up to this point. I think I have my base at a point now where taking a few days (hopefully no more) will not hurt anything condition wise and I will be able to jump back in pretty quickly.
