This is an incredible video on life!!

I could win the funniest home videos if this had been caught on tape.

On Tuesday of this week I was about to leave for work. I had put my bags in the truck and had gone back in to tell Kathy and Glenn bye. We had a bad storm front coming through and when I had been out minutes earlier there were just a few drops of rain starting. When I went back out, it was raining sheets of rain in a heavy downpour the winds were incredible. My yard was flooding. The news said this front was pushing through at 60-65 mph.
As I stood in the garage deciding what to do, I figured I would just make a run for it. Traffic backs up very quickly and with these storms would only be worse so with coffee in hand I took off. I have to walk to the truck in the grass as I park right on the edge of the driveway.
As I got right to the truck and reached for the door handle both feet went right out from under me straight above my head. I landed on the middle of my back and banged my head on the ground. Luckily I was on the wet slippery grass and that added a cushion of sorts- better than concrete I guess.
So after shaking the shock off, I got up and walked back to the garage. When I went inside Kathy started laughing. I don't think I have ever seen her laugh that hard. My clothes were soaked. I had to go undress in the garage becuase my clothes were wet/nasty and covered with grass/mud. Even my undershirt was muddy on the back where I had landed. I was hurting a little but even had to laugh at the whole incident.
The best part of the whole thing- I didn't spill my coffee. Somehow, as I went airborn landed on my back I balanced my coffee cup such that I didn't spill it. YES!!! I love my coffee and I guess it shows!!!!

On Thursday this week we received a call from Kathy's family that her aunt was in ICU at a hospital here in NE Georgia. She has had MS for 13-14 years and had not been doing real good for the past few months. As they were transporting her from one hospital to another in an ambulance she quit breathing. They had to resuscitate her. Over the next 3-4 days things were touch and go. She had to be resuscitated twice more. First they thought it may be a stroke then ruled that out. Then they thought it was MS related, then ruled that out. Basically they couldn't figure out what it was. Then early Sunday morning we got a call that things didn't look good and they didn't expect her to make it through the day. We immdiately went there for the day. As the day went on she progressively got better and the decision was made to take the ventilator off. She continued to get a little better. Then we got a call Monday morning that her lungs were filling up with "gunk" and they expected her to go to sleep and not wake up. Tuesday morning we received a call that she was doing great. She has pneumonia that they are working to clear up but other than that, the only thing going on right now is the MS that she already had. She even took her medicine by mouth instead of by IV. She was to be moved from ICU to Intermediate Care on Tuesday but the doctors decided to skip intermediate care all together and get her in a regular room. I do believe God still works miracles and I do believe I just witnessed one.

Make the best out of situations and push forward- that is what I have always tried to do in life.

I was actually starting to feel like I was really getting back in to the swing of things and was feelin energetic until I strained a muscle in my back practicing with the basketball team I help coach. That was on Friday night, 01 February, and I haven't been able to do much since. As it started to feel better I would try to run again only to be sidelined again. I feel like I'm at about 95% now so it won't be long now hopefully.
I have basically cancelled all race plans I had through the spring.
