The last few weeks have been very busy and I haven't made much time for running. It was just turning in to another stress in life rather than being the sport that I have enjoyed the last 5 years. I dropped out of training for a race in week 6 of the Pfitzinger program and just thought I would take a couple of weeks of R&R then go back at it, but as is the case in many instances, that didn't happen.
A catch up in miles run per week:
08-21-06 - 08-27-06: total 9 miles
08-28-06 - 09-03-06: total 23 miles
09-04-06 - 09-10-06: total 13 miles
09-11-06 - 09-17-06: total 18 miles
09-18-06 - 09-24-06: total 3 miles
09-25-06 - 10-01-06: total 9 miles
10-02-06 - 10-08-06: total 14 miles

So, not a perfect plan to be following running wise, but, I am enjoying the running. I am running when I can and what I feel like running. The only 2 races I have on my schedule right now are the Atlanta Half Marathon on Thanksgiving day and the ING Georgia marathon in March 2007. I may decide to run a couple others depending on how I feel and when I decide to get back in to training. I have not ruled out Thunder Road in Charlotte Half marathon on Dec. 9 but have not signed up for it either.

With my work schedule right now I don't want to commit to too much. Hopefully things are turning in the right direction work wise and I will have more free time.

We took a vacation and went to Panama City Beach 09-22 through 09-27. What a great time! It was Glenn's first trip to the beach and he had a blast. A couple of cool things about the trip- there was a motorcycle rally going on called "Thunder Beach". Good looking bikes everywhere!! Also, I did 2 runs while I was there- a 3 mile run and a 6 mile run. When I was doing the 6 mile run, I saw the IM symbol on the road with an arrow by it. I looked on the map for the Florida IM and saw that the place I had gone to run was part of the run course and that was the turn around point for the 2 laps that make up the marathon portion of the race. I am trying to work it out to go back down in Nov. and volunteer for the IM race but I am not sure I am going to be able to work it out.
