I was not really in a mood to post last week for a couple of reasons. I went out last Saturday with the idea to do a 12-15 mile run. I have been speeding my pace a bit on my runs the last couple of weeks and would try to push it a little on my long run so that is why I had a range I was going to run instead of a specific mileage run. I felt pretty good on the run and was brining my pace down pretty good and decided I would go ahead and run 15. I should have stopped at 12. I don’t know what happened but the run really went south on me and I really struggled the last 3 miles, and especially the last 2 miles.
I got home, cleaned up, relaxed, took Glenn to Tae Kwon Do. Leaving after the class my left knee was hurting pretty bad. I didn’t really do anything the rest of the day until we went to a wedding that evening. I danced a little too much probably but had a good time… woke up Sunday morning and had trouble walking. I ended up taking some Aleve and then went out for a 6.5 mile run later in the day then cut the grass. Probably shouldn’t have done all of that but I thought I could work my way through it. I have had knee pain before and run through it so I thought maybe I could this time. NOT. I ended up only running 4 miles last week. I probably could have run but the pain was pretty bad so I ended up taking the week off. Knee pain is almost totally gone so I will resume training this week. I have 4 weeks of training and 2 weeks of taper before the race so I am not really concerned at this point. I am feeling good other wise and ready to race.

Tues- run- 6 miles
Wed- run- 6.5 miles
Thurs- run- 6 miles
Fri- rest day
Sat- run- 15 miles
Sun- run- 6.5 miles
Total- run- 40 miles; bike- 10 miles
Week of 26 Oct:
Mon- bike 10 miles
Tues- run- 4 miles; bike- 10 miles
Wed- nothing
Thurs- nothing
Fri- nothing
Sat- nothing
Sun- nothing
Total- run- 4 miles; bike- 20 miles
