Week of 18 May 2009

I am trying to decide what to do about the heel. I have had bouts with PF before but, unlike this time, it went away pretty quickly. Do I need to stop running until ti totally goes away? Do I continue at the rate I am now and hope it goes away? I haven't been diligent in stretching and exercising it like I have read about- maybe I will give that a try and then make a decision on what to do further.

Mon- No run
Tues- 6.2 miles
Wed- 6.2 miles
Thurs- 6.1 miles
Fri- No run
Sat- 10 miles
Sun- 5 miles

Total- 33.5 miles

Week of 11 May, 2009

Kind of a rough week with a PF flare up. The week started off well enough with good runs Tues and Wed. On Thurs I took off for a run and stopped 41 secods in to the run. I stretched and tried it again.... no go. I took Thurs and Fri off and ran late in the day on Sat. It seemed every step I took was a struggle- ended up stopping after 6 miles (had 8 on the schedule). Sunday I ran late in the day in between the rain showers we were getting and had a great run. All in all I missed the 6 mile run on Thurs and 2 of my 8 miles on Sat. I had scheduled this to be a cut back week any way, just not that much of a cut back week.

I finally came to grips that it was the Alchemy's causing me the problems. I went Saturday and bought a pair of Asic 2140's and ran in them for the 5 miles on Sunday. I only have 100 miles on the Alchemy's - wish I didn't have to retire them so soon but the PF isn't going away and it started when I first ran in them. I was always under the impression that the Alchemy and the Asic 2000 series were direct replacements for each other but the guy at Fleet Feet told ne differently on Sat.

Summary:
Mon- no run
Tues- 6.1 miles
Wed- 6.2 miles
Thurs- no run (6 scheduled)
Fri- no run
Sat- 6 miles (8 scheduled)
Sun- 5 miles

Total- 23.3 miles
